Editorial policy

How Get Rehab writes, sources, reviews and corrects the information published on this site.

Who writes our guides

Guides are attributed to the Get Rehab editorial team rather than to a named individual. We do not publish under invented author names or invented clinical credentials, and we do not claim clinical authorship.

Where a guide has been reviewed by a named clinician, the guide states who reviewed it, their credential and the date of that review. Where no clinical review has taken place, the guide says clinical review is pending. We do not describe unreviewed content as clinically reviewed.

How we choose sources

We prefer primary Australian government, regulator and scheme sources over commentary or commercial content.

  • Regulators and scheme authorities such as SIRA, WorkSafe Victoria, WorkCover QLD, ReturnToWorkSA, Comcare and Safe Work Australia.
  • Commonwealth agencies such as Services Australia, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, the NDIA, My Aged Care and DVA.
  • Consumer health information from Healthdirect Australia.
  • Peer-reviewed clinical guidance where a clinical claim is made.

What we will not publish

  • Statements that a claim, plan or funding request will be approved.
  • Statements about legal rights, entitlements or claim determination.
  • Testimonials, invented statistics, invented case studies or guaranteed outcomes.
  • Provider listings, ratings, availability or verification badges that are not backed by data in our directory.
  • Diagnosis or individual treatment advice.

Clinical review (proposed process)

This is the process we intend to follow; no guide on this site has been clinically reviewed yet, and every guide says so. Guides that carry clinical content are gated: they are published with general, non-prescriptive wording, and any clinical claim is tied to a cited source. A guide is marked as clinically reviewed only after a suitably qualified clinician has read it and confirmed the clinical content. That review is recorded with a name, credential and date on the guide itself.

AI-assisted source checking is not clinical sign-off

Guides go through an AI-assisted source and link check: cited links are requested, and claims about a scheme, program or process are compared against the current official Australian page that the guide cites. The guide records the date that check happened.

This check has limits and we state them rather than overstate what it proves. Some regulator and government pages block automated requests or were unreachable at the time of checking, so parts of the check relied on search result snippets rather than the full page. It is not a claim that every factual statement has been independently verified end to end, and it does not confirm clinical appropriateness.

Clinical sign-off is separate and has not happened for any guide on this site. Until a named clinician with a stated credential attests to a guide, that guide shows clinical review as pending, and we do not display a reviewer name, credential, signature or review date.

Conflicts of interest

Get Rehab operates a referral platform. Guides are not written to favour any particular participating provider, and payment does not influence what a guide recommends. If commercial arrangements with providers change, this page will be updated to describe them.

Where a guide links to the provider directory, it links to a filter, not to a chosen business, and it shows only providers that exist in the directory. If no provider matches, we say so.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us through the contact form and we will check it against the official source. Substantive corrections update the guide's 'last updated' date. We do not backdate updates or invent historical review dates.

Review triggers

  • A scheme, program or regulator changes its rules, names or forms.
  • A cited source is withdrawn, replaced or moved.
  • A reader or clinician reports an inaccuracy.
  • At least every 12 months for each published guide.
